Weeping Angle Block

What's on my design wall? It's a Weeping Angel for my Doctor Who quilt I am making. The blocks are foundation pieced.... Many thanks must go to Soma Acharya for Doctor Who - Weeping Angle pattern, the first of many free pattern downloads from her site which I'll be using. When I saw Soma's pattern I knew I would have to make her (the Weeping Angle) first!

I really enjoyed the challenge of putting her together, but can you see my mistake I made in my Weeping Angel block? Oops!! I used the wrong fabric in the background, look in the area near her shoulder and you will see it.

I didn't notice the mistake until I had her finished and stood back and looked at her from a distance but with my trusty seam ripper, I replaced the grey fabric with white fabric, lucky me for the mistake was easily corrected.

If you are not familiar with Weeping Angels they are an ancient race of aliens from the long running science fiction series Doctor Who. This is the message that the Doctor leaves on a DVD for his time travel companion. "Don't Blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't Blink. Good Luck."

I think my next block will be the Dalek he looks like he is going to be lots of fun to make.

Happy quilting until next time.
