Affairs of the Heart - Quilt Top Assembly

I'm back! and posting again, so what have I done while away? I've completed the hand sewing and squared up all my blocks to measure 7½" x 7½" taking care to ensure the design was centred on each block before trimming. My plan was to arrange four embroidered blocks in the centre and the others at the corners in each row. Sewing the block together. Then sewing the rows together.

I’ve spent time playing around with the border and corner designs.
The border scroll design had to be appliqued 4 times along each border strip. I am using the back basing applique technique to sew the scrolls in place.
As you can see I am sewing the narrow multi-colour border strips to quilt and getting ready to mitre the corners.

Happy quilting until next time
Anne

  2. Welcome back!

It looks wonderful! I'd love to see some close ups of the stitchery blocks. They work very well in the overall design. Great idea!
